Dear Politex...
Followed a BushWatch link today to an article in "The Nation" by
Christopher Hitchens titled "Images in a Rearview Mirror". I've been a fan
of Hitchens for some time now, I quite enjoyed his book about Mother Teresa
-- "The Missionary Position" -- and his recent Harper's 2-part piece on
that vermin Henry Kissinger. Following the events of 9/11 I've been puzzled
by his petulant pissing match w/ Noam Chomsky but I was willing to extend
him the benefit of the doubt. With the publication of the subject piece,
however, it's plainly evident that, barring a successful attempt in his
adjusting his medication to the proper level, I am forced to throw his empty
carcass to the hogs. I uncharacteristically find myself envisioning a
scenario in which he cowers in a Red Cross warehouse in Kabul as he hears
the roar of black B-52's overhead.
Ah Chris, we hardly knew ye...

available on the web (with the occasional odd exception...) --11/17/01
Perhaps Mr. Bush's speechwriter was unaware that Islamic militants still
refer to all Christians as "Crusaders."
The reference is to the European Crusades against the Muslims that began in
1095 and lasted for two hundred years. Some people certainly have a long
memory.
I've enclosed the URL for " Jihad Against Jews and Crusaders, World Islamic
Front Statement - 23 February 1998."

and a report on the "International Islamic Front for Jihad Against the Jews
and Crusaders"
